Play On.

For a long time I fell out with listening to music properly, I didn't need to listen to anything to make me feel better I was content with myself. I was happy and music has always been a cheering up mechanism for me so it kind of fell to the sidelines, obviously I still listened to stuff, what would life be without music? I didn't seek out anything new though I was quite happy to dance about to whatever was on the tv/radio/in the club.

But now I am home from uni I've lost a bit of that happiness and music has once again become an important part of my life, I find myself hunting around last.fm and spotify for bands that will sate my thirst for something new and interesting.

And that is what brings us to this post, on my quest for new bands I'd love it if you guys could recommend me some? I'm going to list a few of my all time favourites along with some new ones below and if anyone has got any ideas of stuff you think I'd like leave me a comment and let me know?

You should know that I rarely listen to the words in songs and I'm affected much more by the actual music so anything with a good beat I'll probably like.

David Bowie - Golden Years

Madness - Cardiac Arrest

Skindred - Pressure

Crystal Castles - Baptism

The XX - Basic Space

Good Shoes - Morden

Linchpin - Fear Factory

Well it appears the links aren't working now, typical! but if you have a google I'm sure you'll find YouTube links :)

  2. I think I'm going through a phase now where I don't listen to music, really. I don't know why. I just am not that into it. Sometimes, I go through phases where I prefer the quiet, even if I know music will make me feel better.

I know a lot of these songs you posted, though and I do like them!

  3. @Elly - I loved the songs thanks :)

@Sofi - It's weird how that happens sometimes isn't it? I like being in the quiet too, everyone in my house thinks I'm weird for sitting in the quiet for hours at a time but sometimes I don't need any noise :) Then they moan when I whip out a bit of Fear Factory or something...
