Wedding Wednesday: The Engagement Party

Engagement Tea Party – Saturday 19th September 2015 Last Saturday we held our engagement party at our house, we spent the day with around ...

Linda Farrow.

Linda Farrow was a pioneering sunglasses designer in the 1970s, she was one of the first to regard sunglasses as a fashion accessory. Famed for the quirky shapes and colours she used; her styles have always been the epitome of cool, she even designed sunglasses for Yoko Ono back in the day. Nowadays Linda Farrow sunglasses are still en vogue and the brand has collaborated with many different designers, including Alexander Wang, Dries Van Noten and Eley Kishimoto. Celebrities are often seen sporting a pair, has anyone seen the Lady Gaga 'Paparazzi' video with the Mickey Mouse glasses? Those are a Linda Farrow collab with Jeremy Scott.

As I've mentioned before sunglasses are one of my most favourite things and I especially love quirky frames and colours, anything a bit different really. I believe this love of all things quirky and retro came from Linda Farrow - on the sunglasses front anyway, I first saw her glasses in Vogue about 8 years ago and they are one of the things that constantly float about in my head now. One day I hope to own my own pair of vintage Farrow's in one of the pastel-ly colours and quirky shapes that signify the brand for me. This is entirely possible as well as there were over 2000 original vintage frames found after Linda's death, some of them are available to buy here.

I just think they have a bit more of an edge than the ubiquitous Ray Ban Wayfarers and are much more fun. Here are a few of my favourite vintage pairs:
Linda Farrow Vintage 271 - £216.05 - Here

Linda Farrow Vintage 1506 - £216.05 - Here

Linda Farrow Vintage 1 - £216.05 - Here

And here are some of my favourites from the Luxe line:

Do you have any fashion items that you've been obsessed with for years? Writing this has re-ignited my love for the Farrow. I want some.

  3. I love the last 2 pairs, not sure my bank balance would agree though!xx

  5. The price is not so good, although I guess you'd be purchasing a piece of history! These are also on my 'Rich Man Wishlist' lol
