Longchamp Le Pliage?

I do not understand why these bags are so popular? Am I missing something? Looks like something my mum carries her shopping home from Sainsburys in...

If you're a fan, do enlighten me.

  1. I'm with you there, they just look like a generic shopping bag. So dull, dull, dull!!

  2. Hmm it's not bad, I might carry something like this but it would probably be a cheaper version. I like the simplicity of it and how much you'd be able to cram in there.

  3. It's a classic simple bag and it goes pretty well with the currently on trend boat shoe.

I like it but it's something i would wait for primark to make a £3 version of.

  4. No, I don't get it either...
I wouldn't use these even if they were to cost $20...but considering they cost so much?...Clearly I'm missing something as well.

  6. The first thing I notice in this blog was the different picture poses in your profile. You put a smile on my face today. Though, I still can't tell you the why the bag is popular. Maybe, it is a trend like the trend of men carrying handbag these days. Anyway, nice blog :)

  7. Maybe they are so big because they are expensive? Like a status symbol type thing. Although, I agree with you they aren't super special.

  8. it seems as if most everyone is in agreement. I must say, i have used one and they are very practical, but there are a lot of nicer bags out there. I remember the Jane Norman bag craze years and years ago. they were useless, but these do have an element of practicality.

  10. Congratualtions !
I see what you mean. For me a handbag has to have atleast three compartments and one should be secure. Fashon is sometimes sensible and sometimes not. Sooner or later things that make sense will come around so hang in there.

  13. I remember one of my roommates during a study abroad trip had this bag. It's been a whole year since then, and I still don't understand the appeal. To each their own right?

  14. Yeah, I agree. It's not the worst bag I've ever seen, but it's not something I'd buy. :)

  15. I love my Longchamp but I don't use it enough. I find my good for travelling as its light and you can pack it away easily

  16. Nope.. not a fan. Definitely not a fan.
It actually looks like the kindda bag you get when you buy she kind of perfum... or beauty product.

  17. Oh my gosh, thank you! I totally agree! And those stupid Coach purses drive me crazy. Everyone thinks their so cute, but they have no character and they all look the same.

  18. ew, have to agree with you, it's bland and kind of ugly!

  19. yeah, it's def a status symbol thing. one cool thing they do offer though is the ability to customize one. they give you lots of colors to chose from as well as the metal finish. (silver, gold, pewter, i think) anyways, any company that allows for customization is cool in my book.

  25. They're just one of those fashion trends at the minute. I remember about 2 years ago in uni, my American room mate had one (different brand but looked the same) and then I noticed pretty much everyone with them. Can't for the life of me remember the name of the brand though, really driving me batty! xx

  26. so totally true!!!
I also don't understand why... Sigh.

  27. Durable, simple, classic, not busy, goes with everything.

  28. I used to own a cheap knock off that was the spitting image of this bag. I got it free with an umbrella I bought at the airport. It was a great bag. I loved it for about the first 20 minutes it was in my possession. Then the zipper broke which kind of broke my heart so I dumped it. The only clue to this bag's popularity that I can think of is that everybody got it free with an umbrella and they haven't stuffed it full enough to burst the zipper at the seams yet.

  29. Wow I totally agree with you! Almost every girl on my college campus carries one of these around for books, but I think they're so overrated.
That fact alone makes me not want one! :D

  30. My mom buy me a Longchamp bag. I wasn't a fan of it but this bag is light and big. I have to walk a lot in the city so I like it.

  31. yes not the most exciting of bags I've ever seen :)

  32. I have one but I think the appeal began when I lived in France and seeing how such a simple bag could be made in such high quality. But I totally agree that they are overrated. Oh well, trends are trends right?
