Review: Lush Skullduggery Bath Ballistic

Price: £2.75
This is a limited edition product from Lush that was released as a part of their Halloween collection, it is still available in stores and online but it won’t be for much longer!
It has been designed to look like a Mexican day of the dead sugar skull with it’s intricate carved details and heart shaped sequin eyes. It is a very citrusy scent, it’s ingredients include lime, neroli and olibanum (a relative of Frankincense), and it smells lovely to me. I’m a fan of citrus bath products as they perk you up a bit and make you feel a bit more energised, lime oil is also great for congested skin and cellulite! Bonus! Neroli oil is also thought to help the production of Serotonin (the happy hormone!) in the brain, so popping Skullduggery in your bath promises to be an almost life-changing experience! Well mood-altering anyways. The Olibanum is also great for dry skin which I’m sure we all have at this time of year, another perk for Skullduggery there!
Skullduggery is the younger sibling of last year’s Calavera bath bomb, which I loved, and therefore it is scented similarly. I remember Calavera being one of Lush’s more exciting products as it had lots of different colours inside of it that made the bath tub look like a fiesta. I loved that aspect and I’m not sure why they chose to leave it out of this product. It was this that disappointed me about Skullduggery, where were the fireworks? When I think about Day of the Dead celebrations I think of colour, brightly decorated skulls and parties. Skullduggery just fizzed away leaving a white-ish trail behind him. Boring. It took a long time to dissolve completely which is good as the scent does last a little longer but once completely dissolved I found it hard to smell the lovely citrusy fragrance that was there before.
Overall, I would not repurchase this as it was a disappointment for me, hopefully next year we’ll have Calavera Mach 3 which includes the lovely scent, the cute skull shape and the bright colours inside of it!

Have you tried Skullduggery? What did you think?
Are you a fan of Lush’s more exciting products or do you just buy for the scent/skin benefits alone?
