L’Occitane 100% Shea Butter

LOccitane 100 percent shea butter
LOccitane 100 percent Pure Shea Butter
LOccitane 100 percent Pure Shea Butter (2)
100% Pure Shea Butter – 8ml - £6
Like the other L’Occitane Shea Butter products that I have mentioned, the primary aim of the 100% Shea Butter is to protect. In particular to protect against environmental damage. The natural properties that Shea butter has leave skin soft, supple and feeling nourished. Shea butter is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin E and essential fatty acids.
This handy tin of pure Shea butter is perfect to keep in your handbag/pencil case (where I’ve been keeping mine!). It has all the benefits of Shea butter in one small practical tin.
It can be used for a number of things, a lip balm to soothe and protect sore lips, a lip base – to nourish lips before applying lippie, or as a soothing balm to apply to super dry areas of the face – particularly useful for any drying out spots.
The 100% Shea butter does not have a strong scent or flavour so is perfect for all you sensitive skinned folks, it also makes the product unisex which is always a bonus. The product can also be use on children.
I would highly recommend this product, since I received it I’ve used it every day – would be lost without it now. You can buy it from the L’Occitane website and also in store.

The Body Shop Chocomania Collection

Chocomania group
First off, let’s talk about the scent of these products. THEY SMELL AMAZING! And I don’t even like chocolate…

I got a sample of the body scrub and the body lotion in my local store last week and I can’t wait to go back in and buy something from the collection!

I used the body scrub on my arms in the shower last night and it’s amazing. It’s really fine and sugary and exfoliates brilliantly. My arms felt really smooth after I’d used it. It also smells lovely, so sweet and chocolatey – addictive.

I’ve been carrying my little pot of body lotion around with me all week as I just like to sniff it sometimes! It’s also great for dry hands, makes them smell good enough to eat! I have also been using this on my elbows which are quite dry and it’s really effective at relieving the dryness.

I think I will have to go and buy the body butter as they are my favourite product from The Body Shop, I have quite a collection!

Have you checked out the Chocomania collection yet? You must go and smell it if you haven’t already!

I have been a fan of Lara’s handmade jewellery creations for quite a few months now, after connecting with her via twitter. ditzymakesjewellery is an etsy store which is full of delightfully whimsical jewels that anyone would like! There really is something for everyone, and everything is really fairly priced (£4-16) with shipping being reasonable too.
Lara has just launched her new collection and it is amazing, she offered to send me a couple of pieces to try out, she sent me a necklace and bracelet:

They are lovely and I love the bird theme, I love animal themed jewellery! The quality is excellent, I’ve worn the bracelet all week and it still looks as good as new! The necklace is the perfect length (44 inches) on me, mid chest (just above the boobs… I’m always losing necklaces in my cleavage!), and it will be perfect for work too as I have to wear a silly lanyard and longer necklaces get tangled in it.
I thought that I’d show you some of my favourite pieces from the new collection, that I will definitely be purchasing come pay day!ditzymakesjewellery
What do you think? I love everything!

Garnier Nutrisse Crème and my Return to the Blonde?

*SPONSORED POST*

me3_thumb[2] I mentioned in my hair history post a few weeks ago that I am a natural blonde, for some of you this might be pretty hard to believe (my eyebrows are a tell tale sign though – they’re almost non-existent!) but up until I was about 14 I was a blonde! Ever since I started dying my hair dark I have regretted that first chocolate brown dye I popped upon my head as it’s so tricky to return to blonde after being a brunette / redhead/ pinkhead/ greenhead…
The only hair friendly option is growing it out, and that is not an option I want to consider – far too timely! So a dye it is, Garnier Nutrisse have just launched their  ‘British Blondes’ collection with dyes that have been tested on British women and have been developed to work with their skin tone, lifestyle and fashion sense.

blondey-yellow-hairWhen I finally get brave enough to return to my roots (apologies for the pun!) I will need to consider my options very carefully, as we know there are many shades of blonde and getting the right match for your skin tone can make the difference between being a blonde bombshell and a brassy lassie (Also excuse that bit of rhyming lol).
Just like with make up there are warm, cool and neutral shades of hair colour and these compliment certain skin tones better than others, if you have a warm undertone to your skin a cool or neutral shade of blonde will enhance and compliment it better than a warm tone. A cool toned dye will also help to neutralise any brassiness that might be a problem, this has been a problem for me in the past, remember this picture (right).
The shade of your hair also affects how jewellery and certain colours of clothing look on you so choosing the right shade is a really important step that I admit I’ve overlooked before. Since listening to the information given by Garnier I will definitely be considering the shade I’m dying my hair in the future and not just picking up the box with the prettiest lady on it…
The video below goes into much more detail about choosing the right shade of blonde for you and is definitely worth a watch if you’re considering going blonde:

I hope that you learned something from the video, I certainly did!
Have you ever considered going blonde?

Smoky Purple - Bourjois Light Shadow Look

025
I thought I’d create a make-up look featuring one of the Bourjois Light eye shadow’s that I mentioned earlier in the week. I used Shade 03 for this look, which is the pinky, purple greyish shade. The shadow is quite shimmery so I’d say this look is probably not for every day, but would be perfect for a lovely meal out or something. I will include details of what I did after the photos below.

Method
1. Apply a base all over the lid, I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and blend this up towards the brow bone.
2. With a flat shader brush apply Bourjois Light Shadow – Shade 03 all over the lid, stopping at the crease.
3. Apply a purple/brown/grey shade, I used MAC Memorabilia, into the crease and blend the edges of the lighter shade. Blend this up towards the brow bone.
4. Deepen the socket by applying a darker purple shade to the outer ‘v’, I used MAC Sketch. Blend this a little and bring it down under the lower lashes.
5. Apply some more of the Bourjois Light Shadow to the inner corner of the eye and also on to the brow bone, to highlight.
6. Curl lashes and apply mascara.

Review: Nouveau Lashes Noir Mascara

Nouveau Lashes Mascara (1)
Nouveau Lashes Mascara (3)
Nouveau Lashes Mascara (7)
Nouveau Lashes Mascara (8)
RRP £14.99
I received this product in my December Glossy Box and was pretty impressed as it’s a full size product! The first thing that I noticed about it is the weight of the product – it is very heavy for a mascara! This is a good thing though, it makes it feel expensive and luxurious. It also came in a box, how swish! (I’ve since lost the box though!)
What They Say
Quick drying, flake-free formula, dramatic volume from just one application, excellent staying power. Suitable for use alone or with Nouveau Lashes eyelash extensions. [short and sweet!]
Noir Mascara gives you gorgeous, jet black, luscious lashes in no time. Just one coat of the new waterproof and quick-drying formula is enough for a fantastic false lash effect. And once you've achieved your perfect lashes, they stay perfect—all day long. [This was from the Glossy Box description of the product]
What I Thought
  • I love the packaging, it’s sleek and understated.
  • The brush is nice and small – perfect for my short lashes
  • The colour is really black, not greyish or greenish like some ‘black’ mascaras
  • One coat gives quite a natural look
  • Every lash is coated and defined
  • I wouldn’t say that the mascara gives ‘dramatic volume’ though
  • It did dry really quickly, without that brittle feeling some mascaras have
  • It adds a lot of length, with two coats this is even more noticeable
  • Because of it’s quick drying I think that this mascara would be perfect for the bottom lashes
Would I Repurchase?
I probably wouldn’t repurchase this mascara as it’s quite pricey, I’m a high street girl at heart.
You can purchase the mascara here
