January Favourites

It was one of my New Year’s Resolution’s to do a monthly favourites every month and here is the first instalment! January has been a bit of a blah month as I’ve had no money to go anywhere, do anything or most importantly buy anything. So I got to make the most out of the products that I already own which is a good thing!
071
Make-Up
Topshop Crème Blusher - Head Over Heels
The formula of these crème blushes is divine, nice and creamy when applied but dries quickly to a powder – great for oily skin as they don’t move about! The staying power of these blushes is also great, I apply my make up at 7 and when I get home at 3 you can still see my blusher! The colour of ‘Head Over Heels’ is lovely, a peachy pink with a hint of coral. It really brightens up your complexion and looks quite natural compared to some pinker blushers.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation – Shade 51 Light Vanilla
This is the second bottle that I’ve purchased of this foundation! I never buy anything twice! I really like the finish of this foundation, it’s natural and not too dewy or matte. It has great coverage – I don’t need to wear concealer when I wear this foundation. It smells good too! The shade is a little bit too yellow for me, I find this with a lot of Bourjois face products, but I mix in a bit of white foundation and we’re good to go!
MAC Eye Shadow – Vanilla
This little eyeshadow doesn’t get mentioned much, it’s overshadowed by other neutrals like Brule, but it is my favourite neutral shadow. It’s a satin finish and is an off white with peachy tones in it. I love wearing it all over my lid to brighten my eyes up in the mornings, it’s also a great inner corner and brow bone highlight.
Barry M Foundation Crème – White
This product is a lifesaver! When you’re as pale as I am, finding a foundation shade that matches is a nightmare. Even the lightest shades of foundation aren’t light enough. That’s why this product is a favourite of mine, you can mix it in with any foundation to make it lighter! Brilliant! It doesn’t alter the texture of foundations either so it’s an amazing product. Definitely give it a go if you’re struggling to find a foundation that matches.
Barbara Daly Concealer – Light
I’ve used this concealer for years now, at least 3, and it is really effective. It’s a cream formula so can be applied with fingers or a brush, I prefer to use a flat concealer brush with it as it gives the best coverage. It’s got a really good coverage and I’d liken it to MAC Studio Finish concealer, maybe a bit less coverage than that but still amazing! I use this on blemishes and it keeps them concealed all day. Definitely worth a look – it’s only about £4 too!
Blistex Daily Lip Conditioner
This is my favourite lip balm. I apply it at night and when I wake up my lips are nice and smooth. I also use it to condition my lips under lipstick and it’s amazing at this job, it leaves your lips smooth but not sticky or greasy. The perfect texture for applying lipstick to. I also like the scent of the product – I think it might be an acquired taste though. Quite mentholly and herbal.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder – Translucent
This is my go-to powder, it’s amazing at mattifying the face when it has got a bit oily in the middle of the day. It’s also brilliant for setting foundation after it’s been applied and keeps it from moving about for a few hours.
Cosmopolitan ‘Beauty Blender’
This month I’ve been using this sponge with my Healthy Mix foundation as I like to get a pretty sheer, even coverage. I dampen the sponge and then apply a little bit of foundation to it and blend it in all over my face (obviously lol). I really like the finish that this sponge gives as it’s nice and natural, perfect for work.
And that is all my friends.
What have your favourite products been this month? If you’ve done a January favourites post, link me up in the comments and I’ll check it out.

  3. I love love love that Carmex lip balm!!! It's AMAZING! Only down side is that there is only one place in Portugal where I seem to be able to find it and it's kinda pricey, but then again it does last a long time! =)

Does the foundation match your color? I'm asking this because I'm quite fair and never seem to find good color foundations (except in MAC and they tend to break me out =X)

Maybe I should start doing this types of posts..thinking about it... =P

    1. That's a shame about Carmex in Portugal!

The foundation is a little too yellow for me but I mix it with a bit of the white foundation and it's fine.

You definitely should! I love favourites posts! xx
