Wedding Wednesday: The Engagement Party

Engagement Tea Party – Saturday 19th September 2015 Last Saturday we held our engagement party at our house, we spent the day with around ...

Thanks for the positive response to this feature last week, everyone really seemed to enjoy it – hope this week’s is up to par! I’m currently sat on a train on the way back from a uni reunion feeling a bit worse for wear(ware?) as rather a lot of Sambuca was consumed! Oh and if you want to be considered for blog of the week, leave your URL below and I’ll be sure to check it out!

The song of the week has to be 4 Minutes by Madonna feat Justin Timberlake & Timbaland. Whilst I was at uni this song dictated my life – we used to use it as a timer for pretty much everything that we did. In particular for that bit of time where you’re gathering your life up into your handbag for a night out and have to speedily brush your teeth before the taxi arrives… It’s highly motivational and makes you much more efficient, try it!
You can buy the song from iTunes here.
This week I have been reunited with a TV programme that I was obsessed with at Uni (This is turning into a uni special!). Gilmore Girls. Need I say more? If you haven’t seen Gilmore Girls you have not lived my friends; it’s hilarious and gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling too! I don’t think I can even pick a favourite character as they are all amazing, when you watch it you almost become a part of the family, Jess is definitely the hottest character though!
You can purchase the 7 season box set of Gilmore Girls here.
Benefit Dallas Blusher
My favourite make-up item this week is another blusher! This time it’s a powder formula though, and it’s Benefit’s Dallas. I’ve had this blusher in the little Powder Time Lover Trio for about a year now and until this week it had been untouched as I’m not the kind of girl that uses a bronzer – as you all know I’m deathly pale and I like it that way! But when I swatched it the other day I noticed that it has a lovely rosy tone to it which makes it excellent for contouring for us pale faces (Did I really just make a Twilight reference? Really?), fabulous! It also makes a really nice cheek colour if used with a light hand as the brown tones mixed with the rosy ones compliment a pale skin tone excellently.
Dallas costs £23.50 for a full size and is available at Benefit counters nationwide
My shop of the week this week is the lovely Megan Jane Jewellery, I was lucky enough to meet Megan at the #zomgbloggersbash back in January and saw some of the pieces of jewellery in action! The pieces are all handmade by Megan and the style of them is really girly and whimsical, perfect for a gift for any girls in your life.

This week’s special subject is, rant. If you know me in real life you will know that one of my most favourite things to do is rant, I’m very opinionated and [set in my ways] so getting stuck into a juicy debate or just having a good moan is almost therapeutic.
As I mentioned earlier, last night I went out – we went to the place that we always visit in Preston, Warehouse. We’ve been going to club since we were 18 (almost 24 now – eek!) and pretty much always have a good time. But as we’re now getting older we have noticed the influx of annoying 18 year olds in the club. In particular annoying scene kids/hipsters on the Indie floor (I’m not a fan of ‘Indie’ music really but I do like to indulge from time to time) that just huddle together on the dance floor in their identical outfits swaying and bopping (but not as energetically as those words suggest)– these are the only words that me and my friend could think of to describe the style of non-dancing they were doing. They were in the way of us, and I’m pretty sure they were too young to even know the bands that they were ‘dancing’ to. Also when you’re at an alternative club you need to be prepared for moshing, if a sly elbow to the back offends you, get out!
Ahh, all better now.

My blog of the week this week is Fashionismyh2o which is written by the lovely Sarah, I’ve been following this blog for ages now and I’m never disappointed by any of the posts. Sarah has amazing style and I love to see the outfits she puts together, she does a feature called ‘New In’ that is a rundown of some of the new pieces in all of our favourite high street stores and how she would style them. Sarah also posts about make-up, beauty and pretty jewellery so her blog definitely has something for everyone!
