Wedding Wednesday: The Engagement Party

Engagement Tea Party – Saturday 19th September 2015 Last Saturday we held our engagement party at our house, we spent the day with around ...

L’Occitane Pivoine Delicate Collection

What is springtime without flowers? L’Occitane have solved that problem with their new spring collection Pivoine Delicate based around the beautiful Peony flower (Peonies are my most favourite flower if anyone’s thinking of buying me any).  And beautiful this collection is, the packaging is amazing – soft pink cardboard boxes decorated with illustrations of peonies and silver accents. I was truly in awe when this little collection popped through the letter box! The products themselves are also gorgeously packaged and look amazing when you pull them out of your make-up or have them displayed on your dressing table.

The collection is based around the Pivoine Delicate Eau de Toilette which is a lovely floral scent with top notes of citrus fruit and white peach; heart notes of rose, peony and lily of the valley and base notes of white musk and light woods. The scent is something very different to what I would normally wear but it is amazing, it’s not too floral and it settles down to something much more subtle but still captivating. Everyone that I’ve asked to smell the perfume has loved it and several of my relations have asked for it for their upcoming birthdays! So it’s definitely worth a sniff if you’re passing a L’Occitane store.

The collection is also comprised of some skincare and make-up items, obviously it was the make-up that interested me most, I didn’t even know that L’Occitane did make-up! I would have probably paid more attention to that L’Occitane outlet shop at Bicester Village if I had!

I was sent three items from the collection; a lipstick, a lipgloss and a lipgloss/perfume duo. I’ve included images below so that you can see the amazing packaging, if you would like me to review any of the items in full just let me know in the comments below.

Lip Shine – 02 Rose Fremissant - £11.50*
This non-sticky gloss coats the lips in radiant colour. Sparkling with a subtle shimmer, lips look fuller and shapely.
Now I am not a lipgloss fan but for this gorgeous creation I have made an exception, it is scented like the perfume, has a light, non-sticky texture and stays on the lips for a long, long time. The colour is the perfect rosy pink shade with teeny tiny silver and pink sparkles, on the lips this looks amazing and is the perfect partner to fresh springtime make-up looks.

Eau de Toilette and Gloss Duo - £14*
This Duo combines the powdery scent of Pivoine Delicate Eau de Toilette and a gloss to adorn lips with an iridescent sheen.
For me, this is the standout product of this collection. At just £14 you get a sample of the Eau de Toilette and one of the lovely lip glosses, you get 5.5ml of each which is the perfect amount. The perfume is in rollerball format and the lipgloss is a lovely peachy shade with gold shimmer, it has the same formula as the full size lipgloss and is perfect for popping on top of coral lipstick shades. This product is a handbag essential, I’ve been keeping mine in my work bag and keep reapplying the perfume and the lipgloss every time I look for something in there!

Lipstick – Pivoine Delicate - £12.50*
These smooth lipsticks reveal beautiful lips in natural and vibrant tones.
I adore this lipstick, it is the perfect ‘my lips but better’ shade and it has become my go-to lipstick for every day. The formula is lovely; creamy and light and it leaves a subtle sheen on the lips. The shade is a rosy-nude type colour and it compliments neutral eye make-up especially well. The packaging is also divine, and people are always asking me what it is when I touch up throughout the day. I will definitely be checking out the other lipsticks in the collection.

The Pivoine Delicate Collection is launching this month in L’Occitane stores and concessions

  8. The lippy might not be my shade but the packaging is gorgeous. I love the scent of this range so will probably get the rollerball. I'm actually surprised at how well priced these are, considering the high standard of packaging and brand etc. :)
