Wedding Wednesday: The Engagement Party

Engagement Tea Party – Saturday 19th September 2015 Last Saturday we held our engagement party at our house, we spent the day with around ...

This week has been a tiring one, the last week of term always is. The children are always so hyper and energetic that it’s impossible to try and get them to calm down and do any work at all – this equals a very tired Amy. Add into that the flare up of my hay fever and certain hormonal changes and the result is a week of early nights. Sorry that I’ve been a bit out of the loop! Going to take a few days off from the blog and enjoy my half-term break from work; I should be back with a whole load of new posts next week.  I’ll still be around on Twitter though so don’t forget to come and keep me company!

Song of this week is a song that I heard in the 17 advert that has been on my blog for the past few days, I love it! Such a catchy little song with an amazing tune. I’ve had it stuck in my head since I first heard it!

The song is called ‘Who’s Checking Out Who?’ and it’s by Beca

If you like 17’s Facebook page you can download the song for free (although I haven’t worked out how you do that yet!? Let me know if you work it out!).

My favourite TV programme this week has been The Apprentice, I love it! I’ve been a fan ever since it started and although I think the concept is maybe getting a little bit old now I can’t help but watch it every week, it’s just hilarious and I love to see the ideas that they come up with. I also love to see what the girls are wearing and how they do their make-up, I think all I need to say here is purple eyeshadow. Me and my best friend like to pick characters and have a bit of a competition to see who’s going to win, sadly one of my contestants is already out! Not good at all!

The Apprentice is on BBC1 at 9pm on a Wednesday

Check out this year’s contestants here

L’Occitane – Pivoine Delicate Lipstick – 02 Pivoine Delicate

First of all let’s just admire the beauty of the packaging that this lipstick has, isn’t it amazing! The new fragrance collection from L’Occitane is based around the Peony flower and the packaging of this lipstick definitely reflects the delicate flowers. The lipstick itself has been my go-to lip product this week, it has a sheer, glossy formula and is not sticky at all. The colour is a nudey rose sort of shade when it’s on the lips and it is one of those ‘my lips but better’ sort of shades on me. Perfect for work.

The Pivoine Delicate collection launches in early April in L’Occitane stores and online

I will be doing a post on a few of the products from the collection at some point next week

Rock Cakes

A recent discovery of mine but a gem for sure, Sarah’s Etsy shop is full of delightful little jewellery creations made of a variety of materials (Silver, Wood & Acrylic) with varying price tags. Something for everyone if you will, I’m an acrylic jewellery fan personally, and adore these Gem Brooches which are just £13.50, these Happy and Sad Strawberry Brooches for £6.50 and this Gold Bicycle Necklace for £13. The solid silver pieces are amazing too  featuring darling little animals or everyone’s nautical favourite – the anchor the price of these pieces is out of my budget though but for a very special birthday they’d make the perfect gift.

The Hunger Games. Need I say more? I started reading it on Friday night and I haven’t put it down since, I’ve had it on my Kindle for months now but couldn’t get into it last time I started it. I’m on chapter 16 at the moment and hope to get the book finished soon so that I can go and watch the film! I’ve also just downloaded the rest of the trilogy ready to devour them while I’m off work!

Have you read The Hunger Games?

Have you seen the film?

Blog of the week this week goes to none other than Danielle from A Blog From Blackpool, I have followed Danielle’s blog for a long time now and even got to meet her earlier this year! Her blog is always a joy to read and she posts amazing nail art tutorials that always make me wish that I had more patience. Danielle also posts about fashion, make-up and life – and more recently she started the 100 Day Challenge – no shopping for 100 days. At first I thought she was crazy for going on such a mission, but I have since evaluated my spending habits and felt the need to join in! So that is why A Blog From Blackpool is this week’s blog of the week, it is a blog that inspires me and one that I love to read, one of the only one’s that I actually type into the search bar rather than read through a reader!

  1. EEEKKKKK! < thats the noise I made when I saw that you had mentioned me.
Thank you so much I'm blushing!
The etsy shop looks amazing - I love the wooden things and the engraved bands! I'm thinking they would make lovely wedding rings :]

    1. You are very welcome! You deserve it! And I was thinking the same thing about the rings! x

  2. I love L'Occitane, that lipstick looks so incredibly gorgeous it hurts! * ___ * x

    1. I love them too! Keep your eyes peeled for my post on the rest of the collection then, everything is amazing! x

  3. I have just read all the hunger games novels in 7 days! SO GOOD! And I just got back from the film, the books shit all over the film, but isn't that the way with all novels to films? But I still think it's worth a watch, Jennifer Lawrence is a really great actress. xx
p.s. also found these amazing hunger games inspired nail varnishes! http://chinaglaze.com/products/index.php?coll=57

  4. Oh my that L’Occitane lipstick is just gooooorgeous! I don't think I could survive the 100 day challenge haha

  5. The song is amazing! That lipstick is something I want!!

    Cool babe! xx Romy

  6. I have also been obsessed with the apprentice and omg that lippie is just GORGEOUS!

  7. I miss the Apprentice, I forgot how much I loved that show but the American version just isn't the same. Sucks that the iPlayer doesn't work outside the UK either. I read the Hunger Games which I thought was alright, wouldn't make me rush to see the film though or continue reading the series - felt a little predictable and some of the characters were rather flat.

  8. really love the layout of your blog :) must go and check out rock cakes! that lipstick also looks good enough to eat! x

  9. Great post!!
    love that song!

  10. The post is great!!! =)
