Wedding Wednesday: The Engagement Party

Engagement Tea Party – Saturday 19th September 2015 Last Saturday we held our engagement party at our house, we spent the day with around ...

L’Occitane Eau Universelle Cologne

L’Occitane Eau Universelle Cologne – 300ml - £37*

Summer in a bottle anyone? A rather large bottle at that, L’Occitane’s new colognes are just the ticket for summer – the light fruity scent of Eau Universelle is sure to be a reminder of sunnier climes even if Britain is stuck under rain clouds.

Eau Universelle is a unisex fragrance that has top notes of bergamot and grapefruit; middle notes of Petitgrain and geranium and base notes of woody amber. When it’s first applied it smells very citrussy (that’ll be the bergamot and grapefruit…) but it dies down to quite a subtle fragrance that always gets compliments when I wear it. As the fragrance is a Cologne it’s not meant to last for a long time on the skin but I find Eau Universelle lasts a good few hours and I can often still smell it on my scarf at the end of the work day.

The cologne can be used in a number of ways; L’Occitane suggest that you apply it with your hands to your neck and behind your ears for an invigorating effect (I apply it like this and it does wonders for perking you up in the morning!), you can also use it as a body splash after showering or sport and you can even add a couple of cap fulls into your bath to give it a nice scent.

As the bottle is so huge I don’t mind re-applying this throughout the day, it’s quite nice to be liberal with fragrances especially one this refreshing. When the weather has been warm I’ve been re-applying this a few times a day to refresh myself and the citrus fragrance is brilliant when you’re flagging a bit in the afternoon.

Whilst we’re talking about the bottle, isn’t it pretty? I love the herringbone pattern on the glass and the font is really lovely and ‘vintagey’ too. I think this cologne would make a lovely gift just on the bottle alone, it looks amazing on my dressing table.

Have you tried any of L’Occitane’s colognes? Or their fragrances?
