Another natural and organic product from me today, 100% natural lipsticks. NATorigin lipsticks are quite famous in the natural/organic circuit, winning 4 awards including Best Lipstick at The Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards 2012 for their quality. The formula of the lipsticks is quite sheer and moisturising but they definitely can be built up for a more vibrant result. The ingredients list is full of lovely oils and waxes that are there to soften and protect the lips, including Orchid extract that gives the lipsticks their smooth and soft texture. The natural ingredients make these lipsticks perfect for anyone with sensitive skin and allergies.

I chose 2 of the brightest sounding shades Coral and Fig and was kind of disappointed when I opened them up as they’re not the bright colours I was expecting. But then I remembered that there was no artificial colours or anything in the lipsticks and forgave them, the Coral shade is quite vibrant but it’s more of a brown/orange than straight up coral. I like the Fig shade as it’s pretty much the same shade as my lips (maybe a little darker) and it just evens them out nicely – perfect for work/lazy days.

They feel very moisturising when applied and stay quite glossy feeling for a while. I’m normally a fan of matte lipsticks but these are a welcome addition, they’re perfect for disguising dry lips and I think they might help cure them a little too! The staying power is ok, not the best but then they are sheer and moisturising lipsticks which aren’t famed for sticking around for hours. I got a couple of hours without reapplying.

I like the pink packaging too, it’s something a bit different to the sea of black lipstick packaging that’s around and I also like the satisfying click that the lid makes when it’s popped on! Some might think that, considering the price of the lipsticks, the packaging should perhaps reflect a more high-end image – but I don’t think the money is going on packaging, it’s going on the quality organic ingredients isn’t it?

In summary, I think these are perfect for someone a bit more mature than I who enjoys a muted colour on the lips and who likes a sheer, moisturising finish. At the moment, I prefer something super bright and matte but I’m gonna hang on to these for the days when I feel a bit more sensible/need to look professional.

The lipsticks cost £15.50* each and are available from the NATorigin website.

What do you think?

  2. These look like great lippies but I can't say I'm won over by the packaging. I suppose that's why blogs are great- they can show me the product is worth looking past the packaging! ;) xo

  3. These look really nice to me. I love a whole range of lip colours from super bright to completely neutral. I think it helps that my natural lip colour is quite pale! I kind of like the packaging, I'm a sucker for pink! Thanks for sharing these :) xo
