MAKE UP: What happened when I did my make-up whilst watching The Hunger Games– An Effie Trinket inspired look

So, I was casually watching The Hunger Games the other day when I was inspired by the lovely Effie Trinket to whip out my pastel eye shadows, this purpley pink shade has always been a favourite. It’s Tainted from the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette and has a gorgeous gold sheen to it in some lights. I decided to just pack it on all over the eyelid and around the eye in a circular shape, I then blended it out so that the edges were seamless. I added a highlight in the form of Vanilla from the same Urban Decay palette, which also has a gold sheen to it, I think the combo looked lovely as the goldness was present across the whole eye. I then added a bit of black eyeliner, Bourjois Liner Feutre I believe, and some black kohl to the waterline (NATorigin). The mascara I used is the CARGO Lash Activator in black, two coats. On my face I’m wearing Illamasqua Skin Base in Shade 2 which is a teeny bit light for me at the moment as I’ve caught the sun a bit but I love the finish of this foundation, it looks flawless in photographs too. On my cheeks I used the Tainted eye shadow on a big fluffy brush and I love it! Will definitely be doing that again. I had two options for lips, in the first pictures I’m wearing MAC Chatterbox lipstick with a bit of L’Occitane lipgloss and in the last picture I’m wearing ZOMG by Rockalily. I think I prefer the brighter lipstick with the eyes, add a bit more drama.

What do you think?

Do you ever just feel like playing around with make-up?

  6. Gorgeous. I'd be scared of such a vibrant purple (is it possible to have a vibrant pastel?!) but you pull it off amazingly. I wish I was better with make up x

  9. Love the subtle glitter!! I used to me a lot more adventurous and play around with looks, but I tend to be a pretty classic makeup wearer now, dont get me wrong I still wear heavy looks, just with more natural colours. shame really.
