Wedding Wednesday: The Engagement Party

Engagement Tea Party – Saturday 19th September 2015 Last Saturday we held our engagement party at our house, we spent the day with around ...

What’s in my Shower?

Perhaps ‘What’s NOT in my Shower?’ might have been a more apt title? What can I say, I like a bit of variety!

Hair Products

The shampoo I’m using at the moment is the Bed Head by TIGI Urban Antidotes Level 3 shampoo, I got the 750ml bottle in one of those duos that they sell on Cheap Smells with the conditioner for about £15 in the sale – well worth it as they last forever! This shampoo smells like pear drops and I like that, at first I hated the smell but now I love it – so weird when that happens! The shampoo is ok, I probably wouldn’t repurchase it as I have similar results with other much cheaper shampoos, I’ve been trying out the Herbal Essences shampoos lately and I’m loving them.

My current conditioner is this Coconut & Sweet Almond Intensive Conditioner, I think this cost me 99p and it’s one of the best conditioners that I’ve used. It smells amazing and does a brilliant job at conditioning the ends of my hair, the coconut scent lasts in your hair for ages too. The only thing I can fault is the packaging, as it’s a tub it’s quite hard to get the product out of the bottom of it when it’s nearly all gone.

I’ve also been using the L’Oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss Crystal 60 Second Saviour Intensive Conditioner when I don’t want something so heavy in my hair, this stuff is really nice and it smells lovely too. It makes my hair really manageable and shiny and I’ve nearly used the whole tube up and I’ve only had it a month!

Body Products

For morning showers I use the Whoosh Shower Jelly from Lush as it’s citrussy and really wakes you up in the mornings, I really love these as they’re fun to use and they last ages as you only need a little bit for your whole body.

When I have a bath at night time I don’t like to use the citrussy scented products as I associate those with the mornings, I like to use something more creamy and rich smelling. The Boots Extracts Brazil Nut Body Wash smells amazing! I love Brazil Nut scented products and they’re pretty difficult to find, but Boots do a whole range of them. I think this cost £4.25 which is quite a lot for a shower gel, but it’s a fair trade product so at least some of the money is going to a good cause.

The body scrub I use in the shower is The Body Shop Brazil Nut Scrub and oh my, it smells divine – sometimes I just open the pot to have a sniff of it. It’s a really good scrub too, nice and grainy but with quite large bits in. I hate sugar scrubs as I feel like I never fully wash them off and I’m finding sugar in my belly button for days! This one washes off easily and leaves the skin feeling smooth and moisturised. I’m not sure if The Body Shop sell this any more though as I bought it in one of the sales near Christmas.

Face Products

This is where the magic happens, I have far too many face products in the shower but I like to do my cleansing/exfoliating when I’m showering to save time. This means that if I’m testing out any products they need to live in there too!

I love Neutrogena face products, they do a fab job for the price that you pay for them. I have the Deep Clean Invigorating Scrub which is a pretty intense scrub, I’ve had this around for a while now so I’m trying to use it up – it does do a good job at cleaning out the cobwebs though, my skin feels nice and smooth after using it. The Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Cream Wash is another morning product as it smells so fruity and nice, it’s quite cooling and refreshing too.

The Ginvera Green Tea Marvel Gel is another exfoliator that I’m testing out for review at the moment, I’ve only used it a couple of times so far but I’m loving it. It’s a pretty weird product as you apply it like a face mask but it just sort of rolls off of the skin in little balls when you rub it into your face, this makes it a really good, gentle exfoliator. Will be doing a full review of this product in a couple of weeks time if you’re interested.

Another morning cleanser is the Organic Surge Face Wash, I posted a review on this product last week and find that it’s really good for prepping the skin for make-up so I use it in the mornings when I’m going to put foundation on, I don’t wear make-up every day.

The No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser is the cleanser I use at night time in the bath to remove my make-up, you can use it on your eyes and it doesn’t sting at all so that’s a bonus for removing mascara. I quite like the cleanser but I probably wouldn’t repurchase it as I don’t think it’s as good as the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, and I’m not really fond of the scent of it.

What’s in your shower?

Do you have a million products too?
