Just Singin’ In The Rain

Singin’ in the Rain – The Palace Theatre – London

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to go down to London to see the stage production of Singin’ in the Rain, now to be honest I’m not the world’s biggest Musical fan – I can’t bear Glee, I was sorely disappointed when I found out Sweeney Todd was one and I can only just stand the Disney films; but I was intrigued by seeing one live. I love going to the theatre, I love a bit of Shakespeare every now and then so I thought I would probably be able to bear it.

It was truly amazing, from the start I was hooked on the storyline and the songs and dancing were perfect. I loved all of the costumes and the sets were amazing too – 20s Hollywood stylee, pure glamour.I wasn’t expecting it to be so funny either, the whole audience were well and truly laughing out loud. Obviously the musical is famed for the song Singin’ in the Rain and everyone knows of the scene with the lamp post and the rain from the film – this part was amazing on the stage. A must-see moment, although if you’re on the front row it’s probably best to wear waterproof mascara.

If you’re ever down in the West End and have got a spare couple of hours I’d definitely recommend it, I’m saving up to take my mum down to see it for Christmas and I honestly cannot wait to see it again. I walked out of the theatre feeling genuinely happy – content with life and ready for anything. You can’t say that about much nowadays can you?
