Things I Wanted to Buy This Week… The Book Edition

I’ve been wanting to expand my book collection for quite a while and those Puffin Classics are the reason why, would you just look at the beautiful covers – they’d look amazing on a bookshelf. The Penguin Clothbound classics are also just as beautiful – I’d love to collect both sets but I fear I am and always will be too poor for such things. I spied the Hogwarts Library Boxed Set last night whilst I was browsing Amazon and it reminded me that I never did buy Quidditch Through the Ages or Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. And I’ve always wanted to buy Angela Carter’s Fairy Tales, I love Angela Carter – Wise Children is one of my favourite books, and I’ve heard great things about her fairy tales. The Night Circus has been on my wishlist for a while now, the cover always catches my eye when I visit bookshops and I’m intrigued by the story – might have to pick that up when I get paid on Thursday.
What’s your favourite book?
Have you read any of the books mentioned above?

  2. Great post! I've got all the Hogwarts books individually but this set does look lovely. xx

  3. I love that you share my love for HPot! Makes me feel more normal and less crazy:) I will have to check that out. I know I have The Tales of Beedle the Bard but neither of the other ones. I may have to add this to my bday wish list:)

  4. I have such a weakness for beautiful, hardback books.I love trawling 2nd hand places for them :)

  5. oh my god i had no idea that hogwarts set existed! It's been added onto my wishlist on amazon in the blink of an eye!
I'm currently reading the grimm stories on my kindle, they're great for lunch breaks.
I also found little princess in my wardrobe yesterday too, you can never have too many books!

  6. My boyfriend will love the Hogwarts Library, might of just found a Valentines day gift! And I want the Grimm's Fairytales! Such a pretty cover x

  7. The Night Circus is awesome! It made me think of a sort of grown-up version of Harry Potter, I'm sure you'll like it. I have a book blog, I'll link it below if you're looking for recommendations. The best things I've read lately are Rites by Sophie Coulombeau and Alys, Always by Harriet Lane.
