Well that was a snappy title if ever I did see (write) one, having just got back from a weekend mini break with my boyfriend I thought I’d show you which products I took with me. They’re all products I’ve used before and are perfect for taking away with me as I know they work. I’ll do mini reviews of each thing but if you would like me to do a more in depth review of anything please let me know!
First of all, the bag that I contained all of my goodies in is from Soap & Glory and was in one of their gift sets from Boots this year, it might still be available in the sale if you’re lucky! It was filled with lots of little mini products.
A product that I haven’t used for a good few years but I do love it, I got this mini size in the little travel bag and it’s reminded me of how amazing it is. It’s the perfect thick moisturising cream for dry skin, it really nourishes and hydrates the skin whilst feeling luxurious and expensive. The smell is amazing too. The mini size is great for travelling and will last for a while as you only need a tiny bit of product to moisturise your whole body.
A sweetly scented bar of glitter, what more could you want in a body product? This is great for adding both moisture and sparkles to your skin – it looks really amazing if you apply it to your collar bones for a night out. The smell really lasts a long time too, you could even get away with skipping the perfume if you’ve applied this.
My most favourite LUSH product of all time, this shower jelly has the nicest scent in the world. It smells just like blackcurrant sweets, it’s very, very sweet and that lovely scent lasts on the skin all day. The Shower Jelly’s are shower gels that are made in jelly form, they lather up really well and are great fun to play with in the shower. Sweetie Pie is full of irridescent shimmers too, which make it so much more pretty! Not the most practical product for travelling but I just couldn’t help myself when I was choosing which products to bring along.
This 20ml EDT is perfect for travelling as the bottle is so small (and cute) I love the scent of this perfume too, it smells just like Parma Violets – yum!
For removing make-up there really is no better cleanser than the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, it removes all traces of foundation and mascara effortlessly. I really enjoy the way it feels on my skin too, it’s quite a thick cream that isn’t too greasy at all and it just seems to melt away the make-up. When I’m travelling I always use this as the first stage in my cleansing process as it does it’s job so wonderfully.
After removing my make-up I like to cleanse again, I’ve been using this Decleor Gel Cleanser for this and it is really good. It makes my face feel so clean and fresh. The cleanser has a nice fresh scent and it really is a pleasure to use it, my skin loves it and it has made my face really smooth and soft. It’s perfect for using in the morning too as it really balances the skin and makes a lovely make-up base.
The Aroma Cleanse Fresh Mattifying Lotion works really well with the Purifying Gel as it also leaves the skin feeling non-greasy and primed ready for make-up. The toner works to mattify any oiliness and leave the skin super clean and exfoliated. It’s great for freshening up your face if you’re feeling a bit tired too, as the scent is quite refreshing.
After cleansing and toning I use this Body Shop Mattifying Day Cream, it’s really good for my combination skin as it mattifies but isn’t too drying on my more dry areas. The cream soaks into the skin really quickly and leaves it feeling so soft. The cream itself has a pleasant scent and the gel formula is really nice and cooling and soothing. Again this makes a perfect base for make-up.
An oldy but a goody, couldn’t live without Dry Shampoo! It’s such a little lifesaver when you’re travelling around – my hair takes so long to dry that I rarely wash it when I’m not at home. A little spritz of Batiste and we’re good to go!
This hairspray is pretty good, it’s not too crispy and it brushes out easily. It has a pretty nice scent too, ideal for keeping any up-dos in place! The bottle is really pretty too (probably why I bought it!)
I love this product! It’s actually really good at giving you that backcombed look with hardly any work! I just spritz a bit at my roots and then rub it in – et voila! Loads of volume without the stickiness and tangles involved with backcombing and hairspray!
I love a bit of hair oil and I picked this one up for £2.50 from Primark in the summer, I wasn’t expecting much from it to be honest but it’s actually pretty good. It leaves my hair soft, shiny and manageable, it smells pretty good too. The packaging is great for travelling, it’s made of plastic and is nice and small. I usually apply this to wet hair after washing but I have also used it on dry hair to add a bit of life back into it and stop my ends looking so dry.
I wasn’t expecting this post to be quite so long but hopefully you’ve got some ideas for the next time you’re whisked away… if you’d like me to review anything in more depth just let me know and I’ll get on it!
