Blogging Every Day in May?

Hello,

Sorry I've been a little absent of late, just thought I'd update you all on the situation! So, 2 weeks ago I got a new job/promotion to a higher level Teaching Assistant - I started last Monday and the hours are longer and the job is a hundred times more stressful than my previous role. The new job involves me managing the team of Teaching Assistants and making sure that all of the SEN students at the school are supported. On Tuesday I got a phonecall to tell me that my new staff member had arrived... I had no idea that I had someone new starting, so that was a nice surprise at 10 past 8. Cue stress city, trying to organise a timetable and escorts and everything else a new member of staff needs! On Wednesday 10 past 2 rolls around, only an hour and a half to go, and the dreaded call from Ofsted is taken. We were to be inspected on Thursday and Friday. Arghhh! We stayed at work until 5 on Wednesday completing case studies and organising the next two days so they went well, what we didn't plan for was the amount of students that we'd have to look after as the teachers didn't want them disrupting their lessons! Thursday was a meltdown, I didn't sit down all day and I had a little cry at the end of the day. Not good. Friday was better though, and we're all relieved that the inspectors have gone.

Let's hope my second week in the job is a little more relaxed! Any other TA3's in the house?

Anyway, back to the blogging. I'm hoping to blog every day in May - I used to blog daily anyway but I've let it slip lately and I miss it.

Have you got any post requests?

Zatchels Saddle Bag

Zatchels-Love-Heart-Saddle-Bag-Satchel-Sale-Review-3

I thought I’d give you all a little peek at my new pride and joy, this delightful little bag. It’s the Zatchels Saddle Bag in the love heart print design, it’s the smallest size (23.5cm) I think. It’s the perfect size and shape for a day bag and it encourages you to travel light and not ram your bag full of useless items! I find myself using this bag most weekends as it’s just big enough to fit my purse, phone and a snack in. It’s great for visits to London too as the fastening is underneath the bag and it’s quite tricky to undo so it adds a bit of extra security when on the tube etc – although this does also get a bit annoying when it’s time to whip your Oyster card out!

If you’re after a cute day bag, I’d definitely recommend it, it’s real leather and handmade in the UK so a lovely company to support too. The RRP of the bag is £65 – a bit steep but if you use it all the time the cost-per-wear is quite low. I also have one of the Zatchels Classic 14.5” satchels and I use this bag much more than that bag, as the satchel is a bit too big and heavy for me to carry around all the time.

Zatchels are also having a 50% off sale today (until midnight!) so you can grab this bag (or one of their others!) for a bargain price! Check the website out here: http://www.zatchels.com

Are you a fan of the classic leather satchel look?

Do you prefer small or larger bags for the weekends?

L’Oreal Mousse Absolue–Re-usable Hair Dye

L’Oreal Mousse Absolue by Preference - £10.99*

A couple of weeks ago I popped down to L’Oreal HQ in London to check out their newest hair dye launch, Mousse Absolue by Preference. Now, the special thing about this hair dye is that it’s re-usable, a permanent hair dye that is reusable? yep. The hair dye comes in an aerosol can that dispenses the product in a mousse formula – once you press down on the button the developer and colourant are mixed together. As the mixing doesn’t happen until the button is pressed it means that this hair dye can be kept in your cupboard/bathroom/handbag… until you’ve actually used it all up! Such a great idea, having super long hair always meant that I needed to buy two boxes of hair dye to cover everything, but I’d always have some dye left over that I had to throw away – with this dye you don’t have this problem, you just replace the nozzle with the lid and pop the leftover dye somewhere safe. This also means that this dye is perfect for touching up your roots or covering fading as you can just use however much you need. I will definitely be keeping a bottle of this on hand for my roots, I’m naturally blonde so I look a bit strange/bald when I have root regrowth!

There are 14 shades in three colour families, blondes, reds and browns. There are a nice range of shades in each family too, from the lightest blonde to the darkest brunette. Each of the shades has been developed to leave the hair looking shiny, intense and multitonal – a perfect blend of colours to make your hair look alive!

I used the shade 654 Light Chestnut Brunette on my roots the other day and to be honest I was sceptical, my hair is bright red and I was sure my blonde roots were going to be dyed a light brown colour and not blend in at all. Wrong. The shade was a perfect match, you can’t even tell I’ve dyed my hair. None of that dreaded orange roots, red ends business and I didn’t have to compromise on the vibrancy of my current hair colour either. Perfect. I can’t imagine using a different dye to touch my roots up now, it was so easy and the results were outstanding.

Have you tried Mousse Absolue yet?

Products That I Want to Repurchase… But Can’t Afford to!

Things-I-want-to-repurchase-but-cant

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - £29 | Murad Time Release Blemish Cleanser - £29 | Elemis FreshSkin Skin Clear Mattifying Moisturiser - £20 | Rodial Glam Balm Lip - £19 | L’Occitane Shea Ultra Gentle Moisturiser - £25 | L’Occitane Shea Butter Rose Petals Ultra Rich Body Cream - £16 | Nails Inc Victoria Nail Polish - £11 | Bumble & Bumble Creme De Coco Masque - £21.50 | Bumble & Bumble Thickening Hairspray - £20.50 | The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue - £9 | MAC Haute & Naughty Lash - £18

I love each and every one of the products above, a few of them I used up recently but most of them are products I tried a while ago and used up really quickly. I have been longing to have them back in my life but I just can’t justify the price when I have other products to use up. We’ll call this my forever wishlist shall we? Products I’ll keep using forever (well, when I finally save up enough to repurchase them all). My most favourite product out of the ones above is probably the Rodial Glam Balm Lip, but at £19 I don’t think I could ever buy it for myself, even if it is the most amazing lip balm I have ever used. A lovely rose scented thick balm that repairs every little bit of dryness and is an overnight miracle worker. It is just as amazing as it sounds. Hopefully posting this will kick me into action and get me moving on using up some products so I can buy these beauties again!

Have you got a list of products you want to repurchase but can’t justify the price?

Florals? For Spring? Ground breaking. This new collection by Levi’s and Liberty IS ground-breaking though, a lovely marriage of vintage denim and heritage Liberty prints. The two iconic looks have been combined and brought up-do-date to fit right into current trends whilst also keeping that vintage charm. The hero print of the collection is the lovely Carlin, a beautiful flowing floral, which is really bright and colourful. The other print in the collection is Kerr Bandana and this print is a more pointillist floral which has been applied to the denim fabric – such a lovely effect (You can see this on the jeans in the images above). I’m loving the dress and the bustier, but there are 15 items in the collection including some gorgeous accessories. The mix of floral and denim is lovely, it has such a vintage feel that is going to be perfect for Spring and Summer.

The Levis X Liberty collection launches exclusively at Liberty today, so pop over to the website and have a browse.

What’s your favourite piece from the collection?

Are you a denim fan?

Headline Colors Nail Polish – Centerfold - £9*

A nude nail polish that suits my ghostly pale skin? Surely not. Normally nude shades are too yellow or brown based to suit my skintone but Centerfold by Headline Colors is perfect – It’s a smidgen lighter and a teeny bit beiger than my skin but it’s the closest match I’ve come across. You see, even though I love a bright, glittery nail the majority of the time, there are times when a nude nail would be best – job interviews and important work meetings in particular. It’s boring but those professional do love their neutrals. The formula of this polish is good, not awesome but it does the job, two coats and your good to go. The finish is quite glossy too, which means you don’t need to add a topcoat – I would anyway just to increase longevity but it’s not necessary.

You can purchase this polish from the Headline Colors website: Clickity

Are you a neutral nail fan? Or do you prefer brights?
