Vintage Bag - £1.20

Charity shops are quite dear to my heart, I know everyone says that nowadays but I’ve always loved a good rummage around them. Shopping in charity shops reminds me of fond memories from my childhood, going in and searching for books and pretty scarves and board games, all things people no longer wanted but you treasure. I am quite picky with my charity shops though, I do believe that a few have become far too commercialised, I much prefer going into the little local ones where books are still 10p each. I got this bag from one of those kinds of charity shops, £1.20, can you believe it? Oxfam would have had it priced at about £9 now that charity shops are cool. I do love a vintage handbag, I’ve got a few similar to this one, I adore the framed style and the gold detail. It has lots of compartments inside too, always a bonus. I also adore that powdery charity shop smell, anyone else?

Have you got any charity shop bargains lately?

  1. I'm so rubbish at finding amazing bargains. I think it is just because i am a little impatient sometimes. What a gorgeous find, that bag is amazing!

    1. You do have to keep checking for the good stuff! I find going to areas where it's a bit posh really pays off in the charity shop stakes! xx

  3. Yes, I totally know what you mean about the commercialised ones which have cottoned on to the "vintage" revival and so overprice everything. I love car boots, jumble sales and old-school charity shops where you can get a bargain, and that feeling of searching for treasure still reigns high.

  5. Yeah I hate how much some charity shops are pushing up prices and for things like Primark! This bag is a steal, I love it. Yes I go weekly as I get bored and it's great to take Corben in to treat him to toys (50p vs one from the supermarkets that are like £10 up) I've stopped paying silly prices in them. I think it's good to source out the £1.50 sections or bargain bins, I never go in Oxfam they are just silly. To me if they lowered the prices (to a fair price) they would sell way more and help raise more, rather than over priced clothes sat in a shop doing nothing. xx

    1. Totally agree Law! We take Gracie in to buy her books, 10p each for something she'll probably chew anyway! I would definitely shop in Oxfam if they lowered the prices a bit, sometimes books are like £4 in there! xx
