May Favourites 2013
It’s the end of another month (praise the lord, it’s pay day!) and that means it’s time for my monthly favourites! I’ve not done a favourites post for a little while but I’ll try to keep it brief. This month I’ve been mostly playing it safe with my make-up going for old favourites but there have been a few new products that I’ve fallen head over heels for.
How amazing is this colour? It’s such a pretty shade of blue that really brightens up your tips giving them a fresh look for springtime. I’ve worn this multiple times this month, definitely worth a swatch if you see it anywhere. You can see it in action in this post.
I sought far and wide for this little beauty, after seeing it on Karla Powell’s Instagram a couple of months ago I fell in love. I finally got my hands on it at the start of this month from Cute Cosmetics and it’s been the only lip product I’ve used this month (aside from lip balm), it might have even knocked Queen Ruby Woo off her throne! It’s a liquid lipstick that dries completely matte and stays on your lips for hours, it smells amazing, it looks amazing and it was only £11.50! Bonus.
I’ve had this eye shadow in my collection for about a year now, when the Bourjois Light collection came out I bought all 3 shades and used them all the time for highlighting but I had kind of forgotten about them until recently. I’ve been especially loving shade 02 which has a blue tint to it, it’s perfect for brightening up the inner corner of the eye!
My go-to foundation nowadays, it’s got amazing coverage, a flawless finish and it’s staying-power is unrivalled. The shade Shell is perfect for my skintone too, just enough pink without creating an orangey look. I’ve been wearing this on nights out and to job interviews lately to ensure that my skin looks it’s best.

I’ve worn this every day since I received it, it’s such a fresh, fruity scent that really gives your mood a boost when you smell it. I find myself reapplying it throughout the day just to build up the layers of scent on my skin/clothes. It’s such a beautiful summer scent that is great for men and women, me and the boyfriend have dubbed it our ‘adventure’ perfume that we’re going to take on our trips away.
What a beauty! The formula of these new cream blushes by Bourjois is incredible, smooth cream until blended when it becomes the most light powdery texture that is completely at one with the complexion. I particularly like this shade, Nude Velvet, as it’s perfect for everyday and it adds a healthy glow to the face. You will not regret trying this product out!
My current daily ‘foundation’, I’m pretty sure it’s a little bit dark for me but it blends out like a dream so it’s all good in the hood. This has great coverage and it leaves the skin looking fresh and dewy but the skin feels completely matte! No sliding around the face after a couple of hours, even in hot temperatures! Bonus. It also has SPF 30 so it’s going to be perfect for summer too.
