My dressing table spends about 90% of the time being in a state of chaos, it’s a mess. I get ready in a hurry in the mornings for work and then don’t have time to pack anything away, rinse and repeat. I’ve got about a months worth of make-up applications sat on top of it right now, along with all the other stuff I just pop on there as I have nowhere else to put it. I’ve had enough though and in an effort to keep my dressing table tidy I’ve decided to revamp the whole area.
My dressing table is a lovely mirrored ornate piece which I picked up on eBay for £26! It’s damaged in a couple of places but you can’t really tell. I really love mirrored furniture, especially in the bedroom. It adds such a girly touch but still fits in with a more modern style, I really love it.
Here are a few pictures of what my dressing table used to look like:
And here is what it looks like after the makeover:
It looks so much better when it’s nice and tidy doesn’t it? It looks like a completely new dressing table. To help with the makeover I got a new dressing table stool* from Out There Interiors, isn’t it lovely? I love the style of it and that it’s white – the rest of the furniture in my room is white so it ties my dressing table area in with the rest of it. There is a whole host of French Bedroom Furniture on the Out There Interiors website, I love having a browse. There are lots of lovely dressing tables and stools which I’d love to own! I much prefer having a little stool to sit on rather than the old dining chair I was using before, it fits neatly under the table and so I’ve gained a bit of extra space too.
I also completely tidied the top of my dressing table and made the most of my MUJI storage, everything is neatly packed away in there and at the moment it’s helping me to keep organised. I’ve also put away a lot of my out of season make-up so that I can start using up some of my products!
What do you think to the makeover?
