Skincare: Elemental Herbology Cell Food Review

Elemental Herbology – Cell Food Serum - £45*

Elemental Herbology are not a brand that I’d heard of before I received this product, I was wowed by their branding and packaging design though – everything is so chic and classic but things look ‘like they work’ too. The brand strives to create skincare that combines natural ingredients with scientific knowhow. The products are all rich in vitamins, anti-oxidants, essential fatty acids and proteins and they all work together to help out skin that is damaged by our ever-changing environments and lifestyles.

This product, the Cell Food, is one of the brand’s ‘Hero Products’ and after trying it I can see why. It’s a serum which promises to increase the amount of radiance and luminosity the skin has. It contains a range of ingredients which work together to boost the appearance of the skin, and to repair any damage done by the environment. It’s perfect for skin that is a little bit sun burned as it includes ingredients like Vitamin E that nourish and soothe the skin whilst repairing it. It’s also recommended to people that travel a lot, especially those that fly frequently – we all know how sitting on a plane for several hours dehydrates the skin, Cell Food works to shield the skin from that damage.

I’ve been using the product in the evenings, in place of a night cream. My skin is quite normal and I find that if I use a rich, heavy night cream I wake up looking like a greasy mess, so I usually skip that step. Cell Food is perfect for people like me that aren’t fans of heavy skincare products. The product is light and non-greasy and it sinks in within five minutes, I haven’t experienced any stickiness with it either. I apply 1 dropper full of the serum to the back of my hand and then massage it into my face a ‘section’ at a time, any excess product gets worked into my neck. I find that this is the perfect amount of product for me, but do be careful as I imagine if you use too much it might get sticky. The scent is lovely, it’s a sort of fresh, lemony smell which is quite nice and relaxing, and the scent does disappear once the product is absorbed. After a few minutes, when the serum has completely soaked in my skin feels like velvet, it also looks more radiant instantly.

If you use the product continually like I have been doing I’ve found that this radiance lasts longer and longer, I wake up with a lovely glow to my skin that doesn’t look (or feel) greasy. If I’m having a particularly fancy day I will also apply the Cell Food in the morning underneath my make-up – the velvety texture it leaves is a perfect base for make-up and it really does make a difference in my opinion.

I would definitely recommend this product for anyone that is after a bit of that ‘healthy radiance’ which everyone seems to be seeking, it’s a miracle product. I will miss it when mine runs out, but I don’t think it will be long before I repurchase!

Have you tried any serums before?
