Life: New Job and Feeding My Stationery Addiction

Stationery-Love
If you follow me on Twitter you might have seen that a couple of weeks ago I got a new job, which is super duper exciting as I’ve been in my current job for just over three years now. And we all know what a new job means, don’t we? New stationery – I’m going to admit it, I’m a stationery whore. I have a whole cupboard full of cute office supplies I’ve picked up over the years, but there is always room for more. New job means a fresh start, I need new pens, pencils, notebooks, envelopes, a diary (possibly a Filofax, although I’m not sure I’m organised enough…) and basically anything with Hello Kitty on it. There’s just nothing quite like starting a new notebook or taking a new pen for it’s debut sentence is there? I would start a new notebook every day if that was socially acceptable, the first page is always the best.
I will still be working in a school but with a bit more of an independent role that will entail being a lot more organised and resourceful, I will actually have to plan lessons and monitor achievement of my students and the like. Serious business. I’m definitely going to need to buy a more professional looking pen – I currently use the Hello Kitty one you can just see peeking out of my pen pot above.

Has anyone got a Filofax? I’ve had a couple before but never got in the habit of using them!
What’s your favourite place to buy stationery?

  1. Loving the little caterpillar glass you have your pens in! I have so many pens, I have to avoid places like Paperchase.

  4. I'm a HUGE STATIONARY WHORE! Especially coloured Sharpies. I own a million at work and no one is allowed to touch them. Everyone knows, ha.

    Congrats on the new job!

  5. If I had the cash, I would buy the whole of Paperchase. On a seasonal basis. There's no shame in being a stationary whore... although I wonder if it has something to do with working in education?

  6. I say keep the Hello Kitty pen, you need to have a little fun while at work! I will run with any excuse to buy new stationary, which tends to be on a seasonal basis when new stock arrives in store. It's not my fault they all look so pretty! x
