Love Me Beauty Box #3 November–Edition 2

Love Me Beauty Box – November – Edition 2 - £10 (+P&P)*

A fab box again this month, Love Me Beauty can do no wrong in my books, there are four full size products this month, with two decent samples too. The Lord & Berry lipstick is a bonus item as the mascara in last months box was a little dried out, so nice of them! I wouldn’t say this is my favourite box there has been but it’s pretty decent, I look forward to using the nail polish and face mask.

If you’re new to this beauty box, there are three boxes to choose from each month each with 4-5 products in with a mix of full size and sample size things. The box costs £10 + P&P and is available any where in the UK with a letter box! It’s really nice to pick which products you receive each month as there are no nasty surprises; you get to choose. I really like this aspect of the Love Me Beauty box as it’s what has put me off other sample boxes like this, I want to make sure I’m getting my money’s worth and not being left with a box of things I don’t like.

This month we have:

Mitchell and Peach Shower Wash – (RRP £20) 50ml sample size - £4

Model’s Own Nail Polish – Prussian Blue - £5

Art Deco Hydra Lip Booster Lip Gloss – Wood Rose - £11.50

Le Soin Purifant Absolution Mask – (RRP £24) 40ml sample size - £19.20

Jelly Pong Pong 2-in-1 Eyeliner & Shadow – Bronze - £10.50

Lord & Berry Lipstick – Brick Lip - £12

Total = £62.20

I think you’ll agree that £10 is a fabulous price to pay for over £60 of products! I would definitely recommend Love Me Beauty, their service is always amazing and the product are always brilliant.

Life: Keeping Organised with my Filofax

Filofax Domino Red A5
Another stationery post? Surely not… I do love stationery though. When I started my new job a few weeks ago I needed a new diary as my current academic diary was full of information about students at my old place of work. I couldn’t find a suitable mid-year diary at the time so I thought I’d invest in a Filofax. I’ve tried their organisers before but only the pocket size which were just too small for me – I like a big space to write in. A5 was the only way for a work diary, I can punch A4 sheets and fold them in half and I can print documents in A5 to slip inside. I thought I’d give you a little peek inside of my Domino, and some of the pens and other stationery I use inside it.

Custom Filofax Dividers
To keep organised, and fuel my desire for cute stationery, I decided to customise the inside of my Filofax. I made some new dividers out of some super cute scrapbooking paper that I bought from TK Maxx, I still need to laminate them but I really like how the colours work together. I customised the plastic flyleaf with some sticky notes and page markers that I bought from Art Box, mentioned in my latest haul post. In the card section on the left-hand cover I store more sticky notes and page markers, alongside some paperclips. There are two pen loops on the Domino, in these I keep my favourite pens, Papermate Flexigrip Ultra in black have been my pen of choice since I was at school! They’re quite pricey but I love the way that they write so smoothly on paper. I’ve been trying out the Papermate Ink Joy 100 pens lately too, they are also fab and I love that they’re triangular shaped so easy to grip.

I also use some of the page markers and little mini fold back clips to mark important dates and deadlines in my diary, this makes it super easy to find them. It also reminds me that I have a deadline coming up that I need to be working towards as I can see them peeking out at the top of the Filofax. I use the MUJI To Do List pads to note down my daily plans as I find it useful to keep them in between the weekly pages to keep me on task. I carry these forward to the next week if I have not completed all tasks on them too.
So far this set up is keeping me organised in my new job, I like how the Filofax is so customisable and that I can easily change my style if something isn’t working very well.

The pens mentioned in this post are available from Euroffice.

How do you keep organised?

Christmas Gift Guide: Conscious Skincare

Conscious Skincare – Sweet Orange and Frangipani Bath Soak & Body Butter*

Conscious Skincare are a fabulous company that create handmade organic products in Wales, they also try to be as eco-friendly as possible. Sounds amazing, right? The products are packaged beautifully too, classic bottles and tins with simple modern labels – everything looks very professional and not at all ‘homemade’.

This Christmas, Conscious Skincare are offering free gift wrapping on full size products this year, this will be a cardboard tube or box embellished with ribbon. The gift wrap looks chic and elegant and saves you a job! I love the reindeer ribbon.

The Sweet Orange and Frangipani scent is amazing, I’ve been trying out the bath soak and body butter for a couple of weeks now and I can’t get enough of it. The bath soak makes the bath water smell divine and it feels so luxurious to bathe in, the sweet scent transfers to your skin and lingers around for a few hours after. It’s the perfect thing to clear your head after a long day, it puts me in a good mood and ready to relax for the evening.

The body butter has the most amazing texture, it’s like a whipped mousse that turns to an oil when rubbed into the skin. This is truly an amazing product. You only need the tiniest amount to cover your body as it changes into a luxurious oil which hydrates the skin and makes it feel divine. I use this product in the evening as it does take a while for it to fully sink into the skin but that’s a part of the joy with this product, prolonging the experience. My skin feels so soft after using this product, and the scent really lasts.

You can buy the Sweet Orange and Frangipani Bath Soak for £15.99 and the Body Butter for £18.99

Christmas Gift Guide: Anna Lou of London Initial Necklace

Anna Lou of London

Anna Lou of London Gold Initial Necklace

Anna Lou of London – Initial Necklace in Gold - £75*

How beautiful is this little necklace? A classic. I’ve wanted an initial necklace for quite some time and this dainty gold one is perfect, I love the typeface that has been used, it’s classy but not overly mature looking.

All of the Anna Lou of London necklaces are handmade too, and they have a Sterling Silver base – this gold one is plated with 18 carat gold.

I chose to get my initials, I have a necklace which has my whole name on it but I thought my initials were a bit more subtle and grown up. I’ve been wearing this necklace every day for work, layering it with another dainty gold necklace.

An Initial Necklace is the perfect Christmas gift for a loved one, I’m sure anyone that receives one as a gift will treasure it for life.

Haul: New Books & Stationery

Stationery Haul Artbox Paperchase

As I mentioned in my last stationery post, I’ve just started a new job and so I felt the need to update my stationery stash. I’ve spent many an hour browsing the Art Box website in the past and I’m always overwhelmed by the cuteness, I decided to place an order a couple of weeks ago. I’ve also picked some things up from Wilko and Paperchase as well as a couple of books from a charity shop.

The page markers are perfect for marking important dates in my diary, the cute panda sticky notes will be great for reminding me of where things are and the little tin is for my paperclips.

The bear notebook is A4 and I will use it for meeting notes that I need to keep safe, the little cat notebook has two types of paper in it and is the perfect size for small reminders. The wirebound notebook is from Paperchase and I love the foodie design on it, I also really like Paperchase paper so will use this for my observations.

I bought lots of pretty paperclips, as the silver ones are just boring aren’t they? Particularly loving these flower shaped ones. I bought some patterned envelopes for no particular reason to be honest, but they were cute. And the little arrow stickers will be great for my diary, I’m a serial procrastinator so sometimes need a little push.

I’ve also bought a couple of books recently, Dodger by Terry Pratchett which I’ve wanted to read for ages and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I’ve not finished either of them yet but I’m hoping to review them once I’ve finished.

Are you a stationery lover too?

What are you reading at the moment?

REVIEW: Organic Surge The Beauty Bloggers Favourites Bundle

Organic Surge The Beauty Bloggers Favourites Bundle

Organic Surge – The Beauty Bloggers Favourites Bundle - £20.95*

The Beauty Bloggers Favourites Bundle is a handpicked selection of goodies which were all the highly rated by beauty bloggers in 2013. The products included in this gift bundle will provide you with a top-to-toe pampering experience; with a hair mask, facial moisturiser, body wash and hand cream.

This gift set would make the perfect gift for anyone that loves to pamper themselves with organic, eco-friendly products. I’m thinking of purchasing one and popping it in a pretty gift box for one of my aunties.

The Beauty Bloggers Favourites Bundle is currently priced at £20.95.

Organic Surge Blissful Daily Moisturiser

Blissful Daily Moisturiser

The Blissful Daily Moisturiser is suitable for normal skin and it has been a firm favourite of mine since I reviewed it last year, I have been using it in the mornings underneath my BB Cream or Foundation to give my skin and extra shot of moisture. It really does give your skin a boost and leaves it smooth and primed for makeup. I have also used this in the evening though and applied quite a thick layer for my skin to drink up over night, in the mornings my skin feels amazing! I have combination skin but this moisturiser hasn’t increased the oiliness of my face at all, and it’s done wonders for my dry patches.

Organic Surge Citrus Mint Shower Gel

Citrus Mint Shower Gel

Another amazing Organic Surge product that I’ve tried before, the Citrus Mint Shower Gel smells amazing, to me it makes you smell exactly like an After Eight – not a bad thing in my books! It’s very refreshing and perfect for morning showers, the scent lingers on the skin for a while so I found myself skipping perfume after using it.

Organic Surge Lavender Meadow Hand & Nail Cream

Lavender Meadow Hand & Nail Cream

A staple in my nailcare routine, the Lavender Meadow Hand & Nail Cream is another fab product. I use this to moisturise my hands and cuticles when I’ve just removed nail polish, it absorbs into the skin really quickly leaving them feeling hydrated and primed for nail polish. This hand cream has no greasiness to it at all so it’s fab for a quick moisture boost throughout the day, I have a tube in my handbag as well as in my nail polish drawer.

Organic Surge 2-Minute Moisture Mask for hair

2-Minute Moisture Mask

I recently reviewed this hair mask and I’m really pleased that I’ve got another one to use now, my hair loved this product. It smells amazing, is super hydrating and it’s not heavy. I have quite fine hair and some hair masks weigh my hair down, not this one though – it’s perfect. It also does an amazing job at detangling my hair, my hair is curly and gets in a right state after a couple of days, especially after ‘dry-shampoo-day’ so this is a godsend for me.

Have you tried any of the products above?

How far are you with your Christmas shopping?

FASHION: New Specs by Warby Parker

Warby Parker have fast become my new favourite eyewear company, they’re an American brand that focus on strong fashion-led frames that are to die for. I don’t think I’d be disappointed with a single pair that’s featured on their site. An aspect of the company which I was pleasantly surprised by is their ‘Buy a Pair, Give a Pair’ project where eyeglasses are given to those in need each time a pair is bought from the website – such a good idea.

Today they have launched their new winter collection featuring six new shapes in five new colours, and a winter colour update on some of the classic frames. My favourites are the Lyle in Plum Marblewood and the Edgeworth in Sage but to be honest every single pair of glasses in the new collection are beautiful.

Unfortunately for us UK folks the website does not offer international shipping at the moment, but I still enjoy having a browse of all the different styles. I hope that one day I’ll be able to own a pair of the Warby Parker frames, maybe a trip to New York is in order…

What are your favourite frames from the new collection?
