Wedding Wednesday: The Engagement Party

Engagement Tea Party – Saturday 19th September 2015 Last Saturday we held our engagement party at our house, we spent the day with around ...

Where have I been?

Me, my niece Eleiyah and my mum - May 2016
Hello, long time no speak!

I haven't posted a blog post since October which is actually ridiculous in the grand scheme of things. I don't really have an excuse for my absence but just lately I've realised I really miss being a part of this community.

So what's been going down in the last 8 months!?

I had a slight job change in October where I started working in a new department at the school I work at. I now work in the Expressive Arts department and it has been such a positive change for me, I have always been a creative person and this has provided me with the perfect outlet for this. I get to do a little bit of teaching and have been involved in writing and prop-making for the school production. We are also working on a small business using dye sublimation which is going very well. I can now say that I love my job and I don't loathe going to work every day.

I had been suffering with anxiety in various ways for over a year causing me to become very ill and physically sick. I have been working on ways to cope with this in my absence and finally have it under control. This has been a big breakthrough for me and I'm very proud of myself. Let me know if you would like me to write a post on this.

The wedding planning has been continuing, we have nothing set in stone yet but I'm thoroughly enjoying looking at all the options. It's going to be a few years away though as we need to save up some pennies first. I'm off to a few wedding fairs in the next couple of months so hopefully I'll get some more inspiration to decide on a theme.

We decorated the dining room in our house over Easter and it looks so much better than it did before. It was covered in floral wallpaper before we tackled it and modernised it. We've gone for a grey and teal colour scheme and although it was hard work the result is worth it. I love spending time in the room now and can't wait until we can tackle the other rooms in the house.

I can't think of any other major updates right now but I will be posting more regularly now (I promise!).

What have you been up to lately?
Feel free to link to posts in the comments as I need to catch up with you all.
